Bella Poarch was born in the Philippines on February 9, 1997 to her natural Filipino parents. Her grandmother had lived in the streets up to her three year age, when she was placed to a foster home. The father she adopted, who is Philippine-American from a military background, is white and American. She claims that she and the brother were neglected by their adoptive family members from when she was young until the time that she joined the military. In order to move to Texas, when she turned 13, her family spent many months staying in San Francisco to stay with her Aunt. She says the physical violence subsided within a couple of months however, she had to suffer from psychological abuse by her father. She joined in the United States Navy at age 18. Poarch began the TikTok account in April of 2020 and quickly became a household name and amassing over 40 million followers in just eight months. She uploaded various videos but her biggest hit was the video she made for MillieB's cult hit track Soph Aspin Send. The video that was zoomed in of her rhythmically jumping and lip-syncing to the song went viral and it became one of the most-viewed TikTok videos of all time. The actress started her YouTube and Twitter accounts within the month following joining TikTok in order to capitalize on her rising fame. Poarch hit her highest point of fame in December 2020. The actress reportedly caught the attention of two big professional Esports teams. FaZe Clan & 100 Thieves each expressed interest in bringing on the creator of the content under their respective brand.
